Crack out the BBQs to celebrate Spring!

Happy Spring!

The first day of Spring was last Thursday, March 20th, and though Georgia weather is known to be temperamental- what better time to commemorate with some delicious events :D

Now, me personally, I have a love/hate relationship with the season, because of my neverending pollen allergies and my appreciation for beautiful flowers. Oh, the life I live. In a more positive light, springtime is also great for seeing a flurry of birds and curious critters in your backyard, though they may make your gardening a bit stressful!

Speaking of backyards, The Popcorn Lady is the premier company for making all backyard BBQs and parties the best on the block! I have recently come across some great tips to guarantee the best BBQ gatherings, and these are from some grillmasters and chefs you’ll want to trust!

James Beard Award and Chopped winner Jamie Bissonnette instructs grillers to please sear the meat on both sides and then cook evenly. This will surely make it easier to impress your guests with delicious food when they see a nice and flavorful char!

Donatella Arpaia, known for her time judging on Iron Chef America thinks the biggest mistake made on the grill is messing with your food too much. She told Insider “the food needs to develop a nice char and crust and while waiting by a hot grill, people grow impatient and touch and move the food too much.” Take some time to talk to your guests (but don’t drift too far away from the grill in question) while you are letting your food sit! Celebrity chef Bobby Flay even agrees, as he often states in his YouTube appearances to "put it on the grill and leave it alone”.

When it comes to being a grillmaster, you have to think about the grill just as much as the food, so be sure to listen to the winner from Chopped All-Stars Scott Conant to season the grill, not just the meat- “I throw herbs and garlic heads and other seasonings directly onto the grill with the items I’m grilling. I love the flavor transfer and the slight char of the herbs and seasonings.”!

Don’t forget to reach out to get your BBQ event on the books today, we would love to make your backyard the talk of the neighborhood!
